SHED HUNTING ALASKA 2002
|
|

Our very first shed hunting
trip in Alaska. My very first shed ever! September, 2002. |

Walking in the woods
looking for antlers is exciting. It's the biggest rush when the
hunt is successful. Aaron got lucky with
these antlers dropped side by side. |
 |
| |
 |
This is how I find
sheds....underground. I like to think I have really trained eyes for shed
hunting. This caribou shed was buried deep, but was in good shape. |

Aaron kept telling me, "if I find a
moose shed, I'm gonna dance naked"...... I saw the moon when he
found our first moose paddle. |
 |
| |
 |
My MOST exciting find. After Aaron
started calling me the "underground shed hunter" all I wanted was to find a
fresh shed. This caribou shed was about a year old. |
 |
| |
 |
After I had my excitement, Aaron
went in search of the other side, not far away he started hollering. He got
lucky though, he got the side with the shovel. |
 |
| |
 |
Look at this haul! For the
drive home Aaron strategically placed the antlers in the back of the truck
to look like we got a monster caribou. (It was hunting season, so we got
lots of stares and glares). |

My monster caribou shed. We
scored it at about 191. |

Shed Hunting Kenai Peninsula
~ October 6-7, 2002

My very first and very old moose
shed. Even though the paddle was gone, it was still very exciting.
Look at the mass of the base in Aaron's hand. |
